Grand Suite Grand Suite Guests
Various odd photos
Now let us get to the nitty gritty of the trip for us. How many times have you
heard the line..."So...how do I get to dine with the Captain?". Oh the theories
we've all heard...let's see now, there's the old "One must have connections at the
cruise line." Dismissed. Then there's the "One must have connections on board
that particular ship..the Master, First Mate, etc." Seen it, it works...fact.
"One must be a big Travel Agent and sell lots and lots of that line." Sort
of...happens once in a while if you have a huge group onboard. NOT bankable.
And then the famous " Ask!...to meet the social hostess and perhaps the Master once
onboard." We have friends and this works for them, however they always tend to
know someone else from another ship...Captain, etc. Name dropping works...sometime.
"Finally we have "One must book the top suite(s) and it's a
cinch!" Now we're cooking! This was our angle.
Okay...the Grand Suite was a surprise to Lori for her anniversary, but
better yet...let's test the theory. We not only have a top producer for Princess but the
'Grand Suite' for goodness sake. It's a shoe-in! Right?
On with the show...

The Grand Suite entrance (henceforth better known as Lori's Anniversary present
after 13 years) very impressive indeed.

A nice mosaic and plants await your feet in the entrance

The fact that this suite has a large 6 person dining table begged the question "Yes,
but where's the butler". Who wants to eat room service on this? We
did....breakfast anyway...we never dined here for dinner. Personal choice you know. Our
room steward was James and I made sure to let him know we expected extra attention right
upfront. He obliged in very subtle ways. Breakfast was snuck-in and served to our table
while we slept, and he would then phone to let us know it had arrived. Tres Chic for no
butler.

Warning! There is no Internet except at the very large revamped Internet Cafe that easily
has 30 stations at a rate of $7.50 per 15 minutes. We were extremely disappointed in how
slow it was, and were told it was due to the repositioning 'possibly' and the satellite
location. Whatever it was, our Internet Provider times out at 30 seconds via webmail and
we could not use the service virtually at all. Killed us. We were so desperate we were
willing to pay $5.00 per minute to email. Digital lines in all the rooms prevented that.
On the Grand you can plug and play!
