The Adventure of the Seas inaugural sailing was to say the least, spectacular in
decoration and very patriotic indeed. The next sailing after this was to NYC harbor to
host New York firefighters and policemen who endured the tragedies of 9/11/2001.
Royal Caribbean International's Adventure of the Seas, arrived there making her the first
major passenger ship to return to the harbor since the tragic September 11 terrorist
attacks. Approximately 2,000 police and firemen's family members will join the four
godparents and Mayor Giuliani for the naming ceremony. The families will then sail on a
special two-night tribute cruise. Royal Caribbean will also make a $50,000 contribution to
the Twin Towers Relief Fund.
Sister-ship to Voyager of the Seas and Explorer of the Seas, Adventure boasts some of the
most innovative shipboard amenities in the industry. She will sail year-round cruise
vacations roundtrip from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to the Southern Caribbean beginning
November 18, 2001, visiting Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curacao; Philipsburg, St.
Maarten; and St. Thomas, USVI.

The cabins pictured above and below are the typical Cat C (room 1630 pictured).

Larger than the standard outside balcony, incorporating a sitting area, larger balcony,
and a slightly larger closet to store your essentials.

The atrium staterooms allow the passengers to view the festivities
from above, such as the parade at 11:30 at night, and are very cozy indeed.

This photo shows the couch view of the atrium stateroom.

This is the view from the main bed into the family room and 4 seat table and chairs.
Family rooms are available from 4 to 10 (although only a few of the 10 exist) and are
fairly spacious. Some incorporate bunk bed style in the extra room and sofa bed, as
well as simple single beds for the children and main beds for Mom and Dad (with a pull out
sofa) or roll-in beds. This is a first to our knowledge that will allow this many
passengers to squeeze into one/two room(s).

Note in this shot the French doors that open to the main room and keep the openness to a
maximum.

Here are the two singles in a double configuration in the extra bedroom.

The balcony is double and very specious for outdoor gatherings.
